About Queen Sono
Queen Sono is the first African series commissioned by Netflix, and it has its global release scheduled on February 28. The basic plotline is that a secret agent tries to find out the truth behind her mother’s assassination and meanwhile also saves the world from evil.
It is a big step by Netflix as it showcases the African aesthetics onscreen for the first time. Also, it would familiarise the African audience with the concept of Netflix and will increase its streaming. The show explores the contemporary times with an African eye, so it is more likely to touch more social causes.

Casting
There is a solid cast with Pearl Thusi in the titular role. She is a South African actress slash model who people better know from Quantico. At the same time, we have Vuyo Dabula who is known for his role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Generations”. While, for the supporting characters, we have Khathu Ramabulana, Sechaba Morojele and Enhle Maphumulo. The creator is Kagiso Lediga, better known as a stand-up comedian, actor and director. He is also the executive producer of the series.
Queen Sono has a robust African storyline in which a female agent fights crime at the same time dealing with her personal life. A person loving shows like Quantico and Scandal must give Queen Sono a shot. It will not be a disappointment.
