After ten years of waiting, fans will wait only a few days to see Zombieland’s sequel. The Zombieland sequel: Double Tap is set to hit the theaters on Friday, 18 October, this week. The first part, Zombieland, came in 2009.
Before its final release, Zombieland: Double Tap premiered in Los Angeles last Thursday. Some lucky people who have had the chance to watch the movie have a very definite answer to the script. We said that Zombieland: Double Tap is worth 10 years.
In the first part of Zombieland, we find Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone, among the original cast members. A group of new cast members will also be adding new roles to the film. The new ones are Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Rosario Dawson (Jane the Virgin), Zoey Deutch (Flower) and Luke Wilson (Old School).
Eisenberg indicated that 10 years later, the film will take up the characters who are trying to make a home in the abandoned White House. Explaining the lag in the sequel, Eisenberg said, “It took ten years because we insisted on how big the script is — which sounds like it ought to be easy, but it doesn’t always happen.”
Now that Zombieland: Double Tap is nearby, it becomes harder for the fans to contain their enthusiasm. Those who saw the premiere report that the movie is amusing and picks from where the film left Zombieland in 2009.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
“The Zombie slayers face some new kinds of zombies that have developed since the first film and some new human survivors of comic confusion from the White House and the heart. But they must above all face the pain of their snarkish, well-being family.”
