Resident Evil Season 1 Is It Renewed Or Cancelled; Rumors About Its Future, Upcoming Details About Next Season

Capcom is back at it again! The zombie thriller franchise, Resident Evil is coming to Netflix. After years of rumours and false starts, we know now that the series is coming.

Confirmed?

Yes, indeed. The show is definitely on and will begin production soon. Expect it to arrive early 2021.

What Are The Rumours?

The show is rumoured to be based on Umbrella Corp. and it’s inner workings. As of now, we do not know too much about the plot. But Netflix let loose some information in a leak on their website. Here it is;

“The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of an outbreak.”

Interesting. Netflix took the leak down quite quickly. Yet, it all but confirms the production and the setting.

The Details

Alice isn’t going to feature in the show, from what we hear.

There is a ton of content to work with and the Alice narrative just doesn’t seem to make sense here. So Milla Jovovich is unlikely to return. We do think we’ll see some of the recurring video game characters as Capcom seeks to expand on its franchise.

Beyond this, details are thin as of now. We expect to see a lot of thrilling action, gruesome zombie dudes and some “Easter eggs” to boot.

All in all, we’re extremely glad to see the franchise expand and delve deeper into the T-Virus disaster. It is going to be an exciting watch!

We will, of course, keep this page updated about the latest goings-on at the Umbrella Corp. Facility. Till then, we sign off from Raccoon City. Stay connected for upcoming updates.
