With the release of the new series, The Boys this summer, Amazon’s dark and twisted take on the superhero genre surprised and enthralled many viewers and followers of the genre. The Boys is an American superhero web television series based on the comic book series The Boys created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It was developed into a television series by Eric Kapke, and it follows the titular team as they fight back against a group of superhero vigilantes who misuse their powers.

The series has been notably praised for its humor, action sequences, and performances of the cast but has earned some criticism and polarized reviews for its graphic violence. The Boys has also become one of the most successful original programs on Amazon Prime.

After the positive reception, Amazon renewed the series for a second season. Sequels and next seasons are usually expected to perform better than the previous installments, and the next season for this show is definitely going to fall under the same pressure to keep up with the positives. It was reported that the cast has already started with the filming of the second season, and some teasers and leaks have come out.

Jack Quaid (who plays Hughie), said that the audience and viewers should expect a bigger and wilder season two. He said to TV Insider, “Yes, you should expect wilder events. This season, we’ve more than topped ourselves.”  He also mentioned about going deep into development for every character arc in the storytelling.

As of now, no release date has been announced for the second season.
