HBO had already announced a spin-off of the Game of Thrones. It has now officially been confirmed that the new show will be a prequel of the previous series with an entirely new cast and storyline.
The House Of Dragon Shooting
The creator of the series, George RR Martin says that there are four topics under discussion for the next series and all of them are prequels. He also prefers to call the new series ‘a successful show’ rather by its name as that is what is aimed by the production team.
The House of Dragon will probably be written by Martin but the showrunners of the previous series, David Benioff and DB Weiss will not be part of the new series. So far it has been reported that it will be written by Ryan Condal and is a made with Miguel Sapochink.
Possible Release Date
There will at least be a year gap between the new series and the last episode of the Game of Thrones says HBO’s Casey Bloys. So the new series could probably be aired on 2021 or the end of 2020 since the last episode of Game of Thrones will be out on May 2020.
We could expect an entirely or at least partially new crew for the series. Though Jon and Dany are done with the series the other characters will not also continue doing the series.
The new story is set 300 years before the Game of Thrones age. It may also sound exciting for fans but also relieving for the producers as all the stars from the GOT series are very expensive now.
