After being released for 26 years, the American dark fantasy comedy horror film directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Neil Cuthbert, Hocus Pocus is coming with its brand new sequel, Hocus Pocus 2. Here are all the deets you must know!
Is It Renewed Or Cancelled
The film which previously starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, with Omri Katz, Thora Birch, and Vinessa Shaw in supporting roles, has surely been renewed for its sequel.
As the sequel is still in development as a Disney+ exclusive film, with a screenplay written by Jen D’Angelo, the movie is speculated to be released by the end of 2020.

The film which was originally released in the United States on July 16, 1993, by Walt Disney Pictures, received mixed to negative reviews from film critics and its audience at the time of its release. With a budget of $28 million, the movie did not bag home a lot, possibly losing Disney around $16.5 million. However, largely through annual airings on Disney Channel and Freeform, it is continuously rediscovered by audiences, resulting in a yearly spike in home video sales of the movie every Halloween season.

It has been reported that Adam Shankman has struck a deal to direct Hocus Pocus 2 for Disney+. Sources also claim that Midler, Parker, and Najimy are not officially attached at the moment, but the idea is to have them reprise their roles in the sequel.
