‘Sadak 2’ is a road-based movie that seems to be very atrophied and heavy with its content. If one wants to watch the movie, it is only for Sanjay Dutt. When the trailer of ‘Sadak 2’ released, it got millions of unlikes which is the highest unlike for any movie trailer. Though this happened as an act of protest on the Sushant case, later when the movie released, it could not reach to the viewers either.
The Mahesh Bhat movie has a huge star cast along with Alia Bhat, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pooja Bhatt, Markand Deshpande, and Sanjay Dutt. But except Sanjay Dutt, no one is watchable in the movie. As a movie cannot be a one-man show, the audience rejected it with comments such as illogical, depressing, boring, and disturbing.
The whole movie seems to be an undercooked pot of biryani with a bunch of good actors and an asymmetric script. The stars like Arjun, Alia, and Markand Deshpande had nothing to do in the movie. The story is neither of the ’90s, nor of the current period.
In the time of watching the movie, the nostalgia of the movie ‘Sadak’ may appear in the mind, but that too will be ruined with the high-pitched dialogue delivery. Sanjay Dutt played the role of taxi driver Ravi who is obsessed with his lost love. Often he talks about meeting his love in another world. Alia and her boyfriend Arjun are trying to uncover a ‘baba’ played by Markand Deshpande, with the help of Sanjay Dutt.
Alia’s father’s role is played by Jisshu Sengupta as Yogesh and her stepmother was Priyanka Bose whose character named Nandini. The movie with a monotonous script can be tagged as one of the worst movies in 2020. The film’s rating and reviews are also not up to the mark.
