He didn’t show a good performance in IPL 2020, so finally the franchise has decided to let him go. RR has appointed Sanju Samson as their new captain for IPL 2021.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
MS Dhoni-led CSK could be one of the potential teams that would like the sign, Smith. For the team, it will be good if they appoint a batsman and Smith is a well-played right-hand batsman. He has also played with the current captain of the team. MS Dhoni is supposed to retire soon and it will be a good opportunity as he can be appointed as the next captain for the team.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)
The team saw a huge change in captaincy as well as coaching. The team had its win at the beginning of the IPL but for the past few years, the team hasn’t even qualified for the play-off. They have recently released Glenn Maxwell and they have a position for international players. So, it is suspected that Smith can be signed by this team.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Virat Kohli’s RCB has played very well this season and also got qualified for the play-offs. They were unable to make it to the finals. Smith will be a good addition to the team. He will be a good addition as the team wants a good batsman. So, he can be signed for the team.
