Scarlett Johansson may Return as Taskmaster in Disney+ Show, Acc to Marvel

The Coronavirus pandemic may have delayed the release of MCU’s Black Widow, much to the disappointment of the fans, but in the meantime, a new promo has been leaked which provides some exciting news about Scarlett Johanson’s involvement in future MCU projects.

New Spin-off On Disney Plus

It seems like The Black Widow movie won’t be the last fans see of Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson.  A spin-off series based on the villain in the Black Widow movie, Taskmaster, may be arriving exclusively on Disney Plus. While a lot about this new spin-off remains unknown yet, it is being speculated that the actor behind the mask of Taskmaster may be O.T.Fagbenle of The Handmaid’s Tale fame.

Introducing The Taskmaster

The Taskmaster, as seen in the Marvel comic series, is a henchman for hire, with photographic reflexes that allow him to mimic the fighting style of his opponents. In the timeline of the events in the MCU, Black Widow is set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, so Taskmaster will probably act as a prequel to the Black Widow.

Black Widow is a much anticipated action packed adventure that revolves around Natasha Romanoff returning to her country of birth, Russia, to ward off her assassins. This Phase Four opener will also be introducing the character of Taskmaster. Alongwith Scarlett Johansson in the role of Black Widow, fans will get to see a number of new additions to the franchise, including, David Harbour (Stranger Things), Rachel Weisz (The Favorites), and Florence Pugh (Little Women), in the roles of Natasha’s dysfunctional family.

Black Widow is scheduled to  release in April of 2021.
