It has already been over a complete year since the end of season 3 of Rick and Morty. There was a long gap between seasons 2 and 3 and fans have already been warned by adult swims that Rick and Morty season 4 could also take a little while to assemble. Writer and producer Ryan Ridley have since revealed that new episodes are likely to land in late 2019 at the earliest
Overall Plot Of The Show
Rick and Morty chronicle the exploits of a mad scientist and his naïve grandson, as they go on deeply irresponsible and awesome space adventures. The show is deeply rooted in the traditions of sci fiction horror, often paying focus to things like ghost busters. Different versions of the characters inhabit other dimensions throughout the multiverse and their personal characteristics can vary from one reality to another. The show’s original Rick identifies himself as “Rick Sanchez of Earth Dimension C-137”, in reference to his original universe, but this does not necessarily apply to every other member of the Smith household.
What Can We Expect
Season 4 left us with questions like, what happened to Evil Morty? Is there actually a Clone Beth? So, there’s every chance that season four could be used to tie up those – and many, many more – loose threads.
There was a small clue about the content of season four in the Season 3 finale: Beth made a meta-comment about the family being reunited, saying that it would now be like season one “but more streamlined.” With Jerry and Beth’s divorce seemingly being called off, we could see more antics from the entire Smith family in Season 4.
The best thing that the audience are anticipating from the upcoming season of Rick and Morty is that the show will break the 4th wall of the television this season. The show is so popular for its adult humor and theories, breaking the fourth wall would be adding much more to the audience’s palate.
Characters For Season 4
Rick and Morty season three featured the likes of Peter Serafinowicz, Danny Trejo, and Joel McHale – but, yet, no guests have been confirmed for season four. We don’t know for certain about any returning characters yet – but we do know that a fan favorite, Butter Bot, won’t be returning. In a recent advert that the producers of Rick and Morty created for Old Spice, we saw the beloved robot being brutally murdered as he’s eaten by a massive anthropomorphic can of Old Spice.
