The American mystery drama web series The OA has left viewers spellbound. It’s a perfect myriad of science fiction, supernatural, and fantasy elements. The series’ first appearance on Netflix was on December 16, 2016. The 2 seasons, 8 episodes each, web series is created and executive produced by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, and the series is their third collaboration. The second season aired on 22 March 2019. After the two and a half year wait, fans have been eagerly waiting for a third season this year.
The OA season 3: Cast, Release, and Trailer
The series revolves around Prarie Johnson. She returns home after disappearance of almost 7 years, and that’s not all. She went while playing a cryptic game, and a person who was once blind has her vision restored. She now calls herself OA.
The cast of previous seasons includes Brit Marling, Scott Wilson, Emory Cohen, Felice Smith, Alice Craig, Patrick Gibson, Brendan Mayer, Brandon, Ian Alexander, Jason Isaacs, Sharon van Etten, Paz Vega, Will Brill, Chloe Levine, and Kingsley Ben-Adir. But it remains to be seen who would make a comeback of season 3.
After a series of disappointing events like cancellation of Santa Clarita Diet to Designated Survivor, the platform’s latest casualty is The OA. The series is dropped just after two chapters.
The makers of the show didn’t hide their disappointments. They said they were unfortunate at the conclusion. The #SavetheOA trend on social media attempts to bring back the series to life. Fans still have fingers crossed for a new season.
Will The OA’s characters jump to our universe?
Unsurprisingly, the meta twist in season 2 ending left a lot of questions unanswered. We witnessed Prairie and Dr Hunter ‘Hap’ Percy (Jackson Isaacs) jump from their universe to another new place, a third we saw in the saw. Rather than finding themselves in a mental asylum, the characters emerged on a TV set, mostly the one where the OA is being filmed.
