Angelina Jolie has filed papers to ask the private judge who is overseeing proceedings of her divorce case from Brad Pitt. Angelina’s claim is that the judge has failed to properly disclose Brad’s business relationship with the attorneys of her ex.
Angelina and Brad are in the battle for legal separation from 2016 after ten years of togetherness. They have six children together.
The case is in the Los Angeles Superior Court. Jolie has objections against Judge John W. Ouderkirk and has filed paperwork to the court. She has said that the judge was too late and not active enough about all the cases he is hired for. The file says the Judge has “failed to reveal the cases that verified the existing, continuing, repeat-customer connection between the Justice and Respondent’s counsel.” Jolie also stated that Pitt’s attorney is advocating Ouderkirk’s financial interests in the case. Jolie’s attorneys have sought Ouderkirk to disqualify himself from the case.
Pitt and Jolie have hired private judges to keep the proceedings involving personal and financial details private, like other high profile cases. But Jolie has questioned why she would not get benefited by the rules all judges have to abide by.
In April 2019 Angelina Jolie has removed ‘Pitt’ from her name and they declared themselves divorced after the bifurcated judgment that allows two married people to declare themselves single while other issues like child custody and money remain unsolved. These proceedings may be of the case regarding the papers filed by Jolie saying Pitt wasn’t paying the amount required for child support.
The filing says “it doesn’t matter if Judge Ouderkirk is truly unfair. Under California, law ineligibility is compulsory so long as an individual aware of the evidence ‘might sensibly entertain a doubt’ regarding Judge Ouderkirk’s capability to stay impartial.”
