Steven Mnuchin, the Treasury Secretary, said that even though there are differences in coming to terms with the stimulus check between Trump and Congress, they both agree that there should definitely be a stimulus check.
The Stimulus Check
But this still hasn’t given a good result yet, and the hopes of getting a stimulus check before November are still in doubt.
Even though Nancy Pelosi welcomes the House, both the parties are still looking to be in indifference.
And now, Trump is alarmed about poll numbers, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is facing a revolt by their own members.
The members were consoled briefly when McConnell allowed them to vote in favor of the Republican stimulus bill. While it doesn’t cover the amount of everything, it does help in some ways. But it was denied by Democrats.
McConnell said,
“I wish I could tell you we’re going to get another package, But it doesn’t look that good right now.”
Pelosi
Pelosi’s House majority is safe for November, though, and she may emerge victorious again with the record of winning concessions from the White House in previous high-stakes contests, including a 2019 fight over the debt ceiling.
This turns out to be an intellectual play from her side.
