Jim Carrey Joining MCU as Iron Man's Nemesis MODOK, Disney Confirms

Jim Carrey is one of the funniest actors ever, but he is all set to become a superhero soon. The Hollywood star is going to join the MCU as Iron Man’s Nemesis soon. According to Disney he will be playing the role of the evil and strong character MODOK. Keep reading to find out more about this legend joining the MCU.

Jim Carrey as Modok

Since early in the year news reports have shown that Jim Carrey was in talks with Disney and Marvel. However, now the rumours have come to rest. He will be playing opposite Iron Man in the next phase of Marvel TV shows and Movies.

As of now, we know very little details about when and where this will happen. However, we do know that he will be playing the character MODOK. Jim Carrey will mostly just be voicing the character of MODOK- which is the short form of Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. The role will most likely be in a virtual Iron Man movie form – as Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark is already dead in the series. Thus it is most likely an animated prequel.

Carrey may even be seen as MODOK in the new Disney+ series that are based on Marvel characters. Rumour has it that he may feature as MODOK in She-Hulk series as well.

With the Marvel rollout on Disney+ increasing, we hope to see Jim Carrey on the screen by end of 2021 or early 2022. Carrey is mostly known for his hilarious comedic roles or his serious dramatic acting. His only notable role in a superhero context has been the role of the Riddler as part of the DC Comics Batman Forever.

Let’s hope he brings his signature sarcastic style and energy to this role as well. Can’t wait to see a legendary actor like Jim Carrey to be part of the MCU franchise.
