What is the In-Depth Story?
Donald Trump stated ‘Do what needs to be done’ for the transition to Joe Biden. The (GSA) US General Services Administration, a federal agency that bestows resources and funds to presidents-elect for a smooth transition, has allowed the release of funds for the Biden-Harris change.
The Trump-appointee also mentioned that her decision to hold funds was made ‘independently’ and not under any pressure from the White House officials.
‘Do What Needs To Be Done’
Trump tweeted to thank Emily Murphy for her loyalty to the country and said he is recommending the GSA Administrator “to do what needs to be done”. Trump further added that he has also directed his administration to assist Biden and his team. However, Trump said that his legal battles would continue, indicating he still believes election fraud occurred.

Earlier, Biden had described Trump’s refusal to relinquish defeat as an “embarrassment”, accusing him of insulting the American public’s choice. Biden also said that the impediment in smooth transition is affecting his team’s ability to coordinate with agencies to chalk out plans for the new administration regarding COVID-19 handling, adding that it could cost more lives of American citizens.
By Monday, even a senior White House official said the president’s statement was becoming inevitable, as central states like Georgia and Michigan started to confirm Biden’s victory. Still, those same officials were unaware that Trump had cleared the way for the presidential transition to begin until they saw his Monday night tweet, which was drafted with input from the White House Counsel’s Office, according to one official familiar with the discussions.
But the president insisted he was not giving up. “Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good fight, and I believe we will prevail!”
Well, The Things you Need to Know!
The Biden transition team will also be accredited to federal funding for its operations and most importantly, start the routine process of background screening of the president-elect’s cabinet nominations, the first batch to be announced Tuesday, and the 4,000 federal positions to be filled with political appointees.
